Sand, Sea and Sky... Escape to the Amalfi Coast |
|
Page 4 Next Back Back to Palazzo |
This section is always a favorite and always a pleasure to unearth "the" fantastic jewel of the moment and share it with you. Not surprisingly, it was quite an undertaking to narrow the choices of where to stay when visiting one of the most beautiful spots on earth. The Amalfi coast is made up of thirteen towns and hundreds of luxury and boutique hotels dot the coast with star ratings sprinkled indiscriminately like glitter. After endless debate and much research, it became clear that one man's palace is another man's pit. Reviews of hotels were wildly varied proving that you cannot be all things to all people. In the end, a wonderful vacation has more to do with personal expectation than anything else. While it is undeniably true that nearly every accommodation afforded some type of spectacular view, we were not satisfied in allowing our choices to rest on this laurel alone. Some time honored favorites made the list and a few are notably absent. We hope that we have introduced some fresh faces as well. While it is still possible to find "budget" quarters, this was not the goal. Because after all, a trip to the Amalfi coast is life changing and when you return to your room after a day of soaking in the sun, sights, and sounds; you want to remember why you came in the first place.
